Who is the "typical" patient?

There is no typical patient that presents to our office for care! We have worked with everything from cancer survivors to children to creating wellness programs! There are many types of symptoms and conditions that are compatible for the services we offer here.

Costs/Insurance
How much is it going to cost?

That depends upon what type of care you are a candidate for, as we offer many different types of health care services. Each patient has unique needs and therefore a personalized treatment plan will be provided. Your first visit will be $200, which includes a review of your Health History, detailed Examination, and a Treatment. Before your second visit, we will have prepared a treatment plan (including the financial aspect) for you.

How much does a consultation with the doctor cost?

The Consultation for Food Sensitivity Testing or Cosmetic Acupuncture is always complimentary.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we accept major Insurance Carriers. We complete a complimentary extensive Insurance Verification for all of our patients to assist you in understanding any coverage you may have.

Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?

We are not a Medicaid provider. We are a “Non-Participating Medicare Provider”, meaning that Medicare patients will pay upfront for the cost of their care (at the discounted Medicare rate) and will seek reimbursement through Medicare themselves.

Medical
Can Acupuncture help with pain relief?

Yes, absolutely. Acupuncture excels at pain relief, and in fact, most of its research is based on and shows success with back pain

What does the initial visit entail?

The first visit will include a review of your Health History, a detailed Examination, and typically a Treatment.

Do I need X-rays?

Not all patients require x-rays, it depends up on your unique needs. The Doctor will determine your need for x-rays during your Consultation.

How long does each visit take?

That depends on what services you will receive! Each visit could be between 10 to 45 minutes.

What determines wheather a patient needs a chiropractor or acupuncture?

That is a great question! That depends upon a combination of: what is clinically indicated for the health issue, what the Doctor believes will be most effective to resolve the health issue, and the patient’s preferences.

Is Chiropractic safe?

Yes. A New Zealand government study found that adjustments are “remarkably safe.” By avoiding drugs and risky surgery, chiropractic care enjoys an excellent track record. A thorough exam can identify the rare person for whom chiropractic care might be unsuitable. Compare the statistics. Adjustments are about 100 times safer than taking an over-the-counter pain reliever!

How does Chiropratic work?

Chiropractic works because you are a self-healing, self-regulating machine controlled by your nervous system. Millions of messages flow from your brain, down your spinal cord, and out to all of your organs, tissues, cells, and muscles in your body. Improper motion or position of the bones of the spine (called a Subluxation) can interfere with this vital exchange of information by irritating nerves and compromising the function of tissues and organs. Specific spinal adjustments can help improve the communication between mind and body, and health often returns with improved nervous system control of the body.

How do I get spinal misalignment?

There are three basic causes of subluxations. Physical causes include slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions, poor posture, and improper lifting. Emotions such as grief, anger, and fear can cause subluxation. Chemical causes could include alcohol, drugs, pollution, and poor diet.

How do I know if I have a subluxation?

You may have subluxations and not even know it. Like the early stages of tooth decay or cancer, subluxtions can be present before warning signs appear. The results of a thorough chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurologic exam can show the locations and severity of subluxations.

What is an adjustment?

Chiropractic Adjustments usually involve a quick thrust that helps add motion to spinal joints that aren’t moving correctly. Some methods use the doctor’s hands, an instrument, a special table, or the force of gravity. There are many ways to adjust the spine!

Are all patients adjusted the same way?

No. Each patient’s spine and care plan is unique! With 24 moving bones in the spine, each of which can move in seven different directions, we see a wide variety of spinal patterns. Each patient’s care in this office is custom-tailored for his or her condition and health goals.

Can I adjust myself?

No. Some people can make their joints “pop,” but that’s not an adjustment! Worse, damage can occur by mobilizing a joint with weakened muscles and ligaments. Adjustments are specific and take years to master. Even your chiropractic doctor must consult a colleague for an adjustment to benefit from chiropractic care.

Dr. Bobik
How long has the doctor been in practice?

She has owned Balance Chiropractic and Wellness for approximately 2 years.

Is Dr. Bobik a chiropractor or an acupuncturist?

The Doctor is licensed and board certified as a Chiropractor (which are Primary Health Care Physicians in this state) as well as licensed and board-certified in Acupuncture, with two additional certifications in Cosmetic Acupuncture.

Food Sensitivity Testing
What is a food sensitivity test?

The food sensitivity test is a simple blood draw. Your blood is then exposed to 320 different items at the lab (foods, chemicals, food additives and colorings, molds, pharmaceuticals) and the amount of inflammation these items causes to your body is measured. The items are then ranked into: Severe/Moderate/Mild Intolerances, and No Reaction and each patient will receive an individual report.

Is it like a scratch test?

No, this is much more scientific and advanced than a scratch test.

How long does the test take?

We perform the test with a simple 5 minute blood draw, and in some cases, we are able to do this following your Consultation with the Doctor. We then schedule you for your Report two weeks from the date of the blood draw where we will spend approximately 30 minutes reviewing your results.

Is it covered by insurance?

This testing is rarely covered by Insurance. We offer 5 different levels of testing, starting at $199, as well as three Payment Plan options.

Does it help with weight loss?

Absolutely – many of our patients see their weight decrease dramatically and in a short amount of time.

What kind of food does it test for?

This test is the “gold standard” of this type of testing, with 320 major foods, including some pharmaceuticals, food additives and coloring, environmental chemicals, medicinal herbs, and molds.

How long does it take to get results?

As soon as you begin following your Report, the results will be immediate – you will notice a decrease in your symptoms, weight, and have a better energy level overall.

Cosmetic Acupuncture
Does it require any kind of surgery?

No, this is the non-surgical alternative to a face-lift procedure.

How much does it cost?

This depends upon the number of treatments required for each individual patient’s treatment plan, and this information will be presented to you by our staff before we begin any treatments.

How long is each session?

Each session typically lasts between 40 – 60 minutes.

What is the duration and frequency of visits?

The treatment is catered to each patient’s needs, but an average person may need between 10 -16 treatments.

Does it hurt?

This procedure is practically painless, and with any type of Acupuncture care !
